Midfielder On Wednesday's Friendly
John Herron plans to take advantage of his Scottish Premier League knowledge when Blackpool face Ross County in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday afternoon.
The former Celtic midfielder is familiar with a number of The Staggies’ personnel and is predicting a different challenge to what Pool have faced so far during pre-season.
“They’ll be a good test. They’re a physical team and similar in a way to what League One will be like,” explained Herron.
“They’ll be in our faces and won’t give us much time. They might play some football, but can also go route one. They’ll be physical and a tough test for us.
“One of my closest friends Marcus Fraser plays at the back for them. I know a bit about him and he knows a lot about me, but hopefully I will get one over on him.”
It’s now day three of Blackpool’s training camp in Stirling and Herron believes the change of scenery is having a positive effect on the players.
“It’s nice to be somewhere different, with different scenery to chill and relax. We’ve got a lot of new boys as everybody knows, so we’re building here and gelling together.
“However, obviously the main thing for us is to get our fitness up and get an understanding with each other ahead of the important one on 8 August,” Herron added.
