School Achievements Celebrated at Bloomfield RoadBloomfield Road has played host to five 100 per cent school attendance parties in recent weeks, with Blackpool players on hand to present certificates and sign autographs.
More than 1400 children attended parties hosted by Ged Mills from Radio Wave, to celebrate not missing a single day of school this year.
And for four special youngsters it’s been an extra special celebration after they have managed 100 per cent attendance all the way through primary school.
Rebecca Wright from Bispham Endowed C of E Primary School, Callum Moynes from Layton Primary School, Kyi Taylor from Holy Family Catholic Primary School and Georgia Roberts from Boundary Primary School haven’t missed a single day of school during the last seven years.
Cllr John Jones, Blackpool Council’s cabinet member for school improvement, said: “Getting children to school is so vitally important. Every day that they go to school, they learn at a quicker rate and have better exam results, which in turn give them a much better chance in life.
“There are some fantastic pupils in Blackpool and I’m really keen that we celebrate them as much as possible and show them off as an example for others to strive for.
“All the children attending the event have worked very hard throughout the year and they all deserve to celebrate their efforts."
