Pre-Season Continues In Lancashire
Fixture: Morecambe vs Blackpool
Date: Tuesday 28 July, 3pm
Venue: Globe Arena
Neil McDonald will be given a further 90 minutes to gauge an opinion on his players and a number of trialists when his side take on Morecambe in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday.
The Seasiders, who continued their unbeaten pre-season with victory at St Johnstone, face two friendlies with local opposition this week before the start of the League One campaign.
The fixture will provide an instant return to the Globe Arena for new Blackpool striker Jack Redshaw, while former Seasider Tom Barkhuizen could line up for Morecambe.
Similarly to Pool, The Shrimps have avoided defeat during pre-season so far, and caught the eye with victory over a strong Bolton Wanderers side earlier this month.
Jim Bentley’s men finished 11th in League Two last season, eight points off the play-offs, and have strengthened over the summer with the signings of Barkhuizen, Adam Dugdale, Aaron Wildig and Peter Murphy.
It’s the second time in the last year a Blackpool side will have travelled to the Globe Arena, after The Seasiders won a Lancashire Senior Cup tie there last season.
