Strength And Conditioning Coach Appointed

3 July 2015

Scott Armstrong Joins Coaching Staff

Scott Armstrong has been appointed as Blackpool’s new Strength and Conditioning Coach.

The 28-year-old has joined Neil McDonald’s coaching staff and worked with the players during the first week of pre-season training.

In his role Armstrong will concentrate on fitness, in the gym, rehabilitation, prehabilitation and injury prevention.

Alongside his responsibilities at Bloomfield Road, Armstrong plays rugby for Moseley RUFC, having previously spent time with Northampton Saints and Leeds Carnegie.

Speaking after the first week working with the players, Armstrong said: “The feedback from the lads has been good and they’re all keen to impress.

“This is a busy period because we’re obviously trying to get the supplements right, food and nutrition, and we’re changing the diet a little bit.

“The lads will be tired for the first few friendlies because it’s all about the season. It’s tough initially but they’re doing well and starting to get stuck into each other,” he added.
