Independent Panel Being Put In Place
The application window for membership of the Blackpool FC fans' parliament has now closed and the process of selection begins.
The confirmed selection panel of Jimmy Armfield, Trevor Sinclair and Reverend Michael Ward may be joined by Blackpool South MP Gordon Marsden. The panel will now consider all the applications with a view to shortlisting around 20 applicants.
The 20 season ticket holders will be invited to a meeting at the club with the panel, where they will have the opportunity to individually set out their views on what they will add to the parliament group.
The panel will select 12 members of the parliament, with further fans being asked to become alternates to cover absence.
Once selected the parliament will elect a member to attend the club's board meetings as their representative, with an alternate also elected to cover absence. The selected member will also chair the parliament meetings with the club's SLO acting as clerk.
The dates and attendees for parliament meetings and board meetings will be set once the selection process is finalised. The parliament will select those club staff members that they wish to meet with and the agenda for those meetings.
