Manager Speaks To Club LegendNeil McDonald says he's already spoken to club legend Jimmy Armfield about his managerial challenge at Blackpool.
McDonald was on the phone to The Seasiders' record appearance holder within hours of taking the job at Bloomfield Road, and his love of the club shone through.
"He's Blackpool through and through and that really rubbed off on me when I spoke to him," he admitted. "I've got to try and bring the smile back to him, as well as everybody else.
"The supporters haven't seen their team win for quite a while so a big part of my job is to make sure we win football games and put a smile on their faces. My job is to get the team into a winning situation and to try and excite them. The football team is my priority."
The promotion of Richie Kyle to the role of first-team coach started a restructure of backroom staff at the club, with the manager keen to add a couple of other faces in the coming weeks.
"There is scope to bring other people in, which is great because I think the whole place needs a bit of freshening up.
"We need staff to come in with a brightness about them to try and change the atmosphere around the club. We're going to be working hard, and hopefully the new people that I can try and bring in will give that to the football club and to the players," he added.
