The Thoughts Of Wednesday's Debutant
Result aside, Miles Addison enjoyed his first taste of football as a Blackpool player on Wednesday evening.
The 26-year-old joined on loan from Bournemouth in the afternoon, and made his debut just hours later at St Andrew's.
Across the 90 minutes Addison impressed, as The Seasiders put in a gutsy performance in the narrow defeat to Birmingham.
“Everyone in the stadium knew we didn't deserve to lose,” said Addison. “For me personally it's great to be out on the pitch again.
“I've been longing to play in The Championship and the manager has given me a great opportunity, which I'm willing to take.
“If you look at the team collectively, and the display we put on, I think the boys should be proud.”
Addison can play in a number of defensive roles, and was selected by Lee Clark in the holding midfield position.
“I thought I was going to be playing centre half, but the manager played me in midfield, which I've done many times.
“I've played with David Perkins at Barnsley before so that was nothing new, and playing with Jamie O'Hara was a good experience.”
Originally signed on a 28-day deal, Addison is relishing the opportunity to be back playing on a regular basis.
“Playing football is what makes me happy. People say it's all about the money, but when you first kick a ball in the playground you're not thinking about the money, you just love the game.
“We've put in a good performance but got nothing from the game. If we don't go on Saturday and give another good performance this is nothing really, we've given ourselves a base and we've got to build on that,” he said.
