Manager On Midfielder's Form
A fully fit José Miguel Cubero could have had a big impact on Blackpool's season according to manager Lee Clark.
Injuries have plagued the Costa Rica international's campaign, but he's impressed since his recent return to action.
Having performed particularly well against Leeds United last week, Clark was full of praise for the midfielder.
“I just wish he'd have been fit when I first walked through the door, because judging by his Leeds performance he would have made a big difference to us,” said Clark.
“Obviously he hadn't played a lot of football so you're having to balance it, you don't want to throw him back in, certainly on our pitch.”
The 28-year-old's foot injury picked up in September had ruled him out for the winter months, and complications delayed his return until March.
“He had an intricate injury. He wanted to work with a surgeon back in Costa Rica, which I allowed so it would give him more confidence.
“He had a pin put in and obviously he was having issues with it. The specialist had another look in there and moved it about, so he came back a bit more at ease.
“We are in constant dialogue the two of us and I thought he was outstanding against Leeds,” he added.
