New Scholars To Feature For Youth

6 March 2015

Kyle's Side Set For Tranmere Match

Blackpool Youth face a trip to Tranmere Rovers tomorrow, with The Seasiders looking to build on their first win of 2015.

Despite only picking up their first victory of year against Fleetwood last weekend, Richie Kyle’s side have improved vastly over their last couple of games and he’s happy with morale in the group.

“They’ve been in good spirits, we have been playing well anyway and spirits have always been high but we just hadn’t been getting the results," he said.

“Hopefully now that win can kick us on for a positive run towards the end of the season.”

With Blackpool entering into the final third of the season Kyle has sensed the opportunity to feed in his scholars for the new campaign, believing it could serve as an advantage.

“We are planning for next season so on Saturday we are going to see a few new scholars be involved with the squad.

"We are looking to prepare for next year and start to get the youngsters in early and introduce them sooner than what we would normally do.

“We have got the opportunity to integrate the new players into the squad and instead of waiting for July to come it is a good, early opportunity to ingrain them into what we are all about and our philosophy.

“The sooner we can do that the easier it becomes for next season. It gives them a head start in playing and seeing what the level at youth team football is so it doesn’t come as a shock to them when we start the new season in August.”

With Kyle already planning for next year his young scholars will be sure to gain experience against one of the best teams in the division in Tranmere.

“We have played them enough times to know that they are an organised and disciplined group and they’ve got pace upfront and they are very effective in what they do.

“They are up near the top of the league and they're not far behind the leaders so they'll be fighting right until the end.

“We know it’s always tough against Tranmere, they’ve got experienced coaches and they are a good team going forward.”
