Players Visit Schools

30 March 2015

Community Trust Delivering Fit2Go Programme

Blackpool FC players have visited local Blackpool primary schools over the past few weeks to talk to Year 4 pupils about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Pupils from the schools have recently completed the Award winning Fit2Go programme, which is a six-week programme promoting a healthy diet and taking part in physical activity.

The school visits were organised by Blackpool FC Community Trust, as a means of giving pupils an insight into the world of sport as a career, and also the important health aspects of sport and physical activity as a lifelong hobby.

The players discussed their career journey and answered questions about their daily routines as professional athletes. They also gave the children advice on eating a healthy diet and encouraged any aspiring athletes to get involved in grass root sports clubs in the local area.
