'Wizard of Wembley - The Stanley Matthews Story' Airs On Sunday

A special documentary about Blackpool's 1953 FA Cup victory and the instrumental role played by Sir Stanley Matthews will air on BBC One on Sunday.

The programme, titled 'Wizard of Wembley - The Stanley Matthews Story', features contributions from Jimmy Armfield, Gordon Banks, Sir Bobby Charlton, Barry Davies and Sir Stan's daughter, Jean Gough.

Surviving member of the 1953 FA Cup team Cyril Robinson is reunited with former Bolton winger Doug Holden at Wembley, while Alan Shearer analyses Matthews' performance in the showpiece.

'Wizard of Wembley - The Stanley Matthews Story' will be shown on BBC One in the North West and Midlands at 4.25pm on Sunday, with a repeat scheduled at 10.30pm later that evening on BBC Two.
