Pitch Work Underway

28 May 2015

Ground Staff Start Off-Season Maintenance

Off-season work on the Bloomfield Road playing surface is now underway, with the pitch having been stripped of organic matter.

150 tonnes of fibre rootzone, which provides stability, durability and drainage, has now been applied prior to the surface being power harrowed.

The final surface will then be prepared with a Harley Rotary Rake and seeded with MM60 grass seed, which is a Perennial Rye-grass mixture that germinates fast and has a high wear tolerance.

Any additional maintenance of the new pitch will take place in late July, with the club opting not to host a pre-season friendly.
