Rivers To Feature For England C

18 May 2015

Winger Named In Latest Squad

New Blackpool signing Jarrett Rivers has been named in the England C squad for a friendly against a Republic of Ireland Under-21 side on Monday 1 June.

Head coach Paul Fairclough has selected 16 players from non league to feature in the match, which takes place in Galway.

"We will face a very talented Under-21 side which will be a mix of League of Ireland players together with those playing in England," Fairclough told the FA website.

"There will be as many as ten players in the 16 man squad who will make their International debut. It will be a proud moment for the players, their families and me."

Rivers, 21, officially becomes a Blackpool player when the transfer window opens, after a deal was previously agreed with Blyth Spartans.
