Bradford Fire Anniversary
On the 30th anniversary of the Bradford fire Blackpool FC remembers the 56 football supporters who lost their lives.
The disaster occurred as Bradford City hosted Lincoln City at Valley Parade in 1985, when a fire took the lives of 56 supporters and injured over 250 more.
A minute's silence was held prior to Blackpool's fixture at Cardiff City and across the country last month, as The Bantams hosted their final home game of the season.
Working closely with the Football Association and the Premier League (whose clubs will also hold a minute's silence), The Football League will be supporting efforts to help raise £300,000 for the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit (PSBRU) at the University of Bradford.
Supporters can support the fundraising efforts by donating online at www.fire-anniversary.brad.ac.uk/donate sending donations to the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit, University of Bradford, Richmond Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD7 1DP; or donating by text. Simply text VPFA56 followed by the chosen amount to 70070. e.g. To donate £5, simply text VPFA56 5 to 70070.
