Striker On Fleetwood Fixture
Mark Cullen says Blackpool are desperate for their next game to come around, regardless of the opposition at Bloomfield Road.
The Seasiders take on neighbours Fleetwood Town amidst a poor run of form, but while there’s added interest around the fixture, Cullen insists they must approach it like any other.
“It doesn’t matter who we were playing, we’re all looking forward to getting out there and trying to get three points,” said Cullen. “There’s a lot riding on it for both teams.
“We’re on a bad run of form at the minute, and the fact it’s a local game should add that bit of extra spice so it should be a good one to play in.
“The lads are still upbeat, we’re obviously disappointed with recent result, but we’re all raring to go and ready to put it right.”
Without a goal this month, Cullen is as desperate as anyone to end Blackpool’s barren run in front of goal, and hopes lady luck is on their side.
“We need one to bounce off someone’s nose and fly into the top corner,” he explained. “If it turns out we need that kind of goal, it doesn’t matter how they go in.
“If we can get the first goal on Saturday it will hopefully give everybody a lift and we can push on from there,” he added.
