Manager Mixing It Up At Barnet
Neil McDonald has hinted that he’ll use Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup tie at Barnet to rotate his squad.
The Seasiders face a break from their demanding league schedule at The Hive Stadium, and McDonald plans to hand out gametime to different players.
“We’ll be making changes,” confirmed McDonald. “Everybody has waited patiently, but at the same time I have to try and find a balance between making changes and trying to win the game.
“I made changes against Port Vale in the JPT and the players that came in did really well, so we’ll be looking for exactly the same outcome.
“This changes the focus, everybody wants to play in the FA Cup, and it gives us time to recover from a couple of injuries, making sure everybody is ready for the league games.”
Going into the game after two defeats, McDonald is desperate for his side to recapture their form, so won’t go overboard with his changes.
“The back four’s going to be strong, it has to remain strong because of the opposition that we’re playing.
“We were looking hard to beat before the last two games, but still need to be scoring more goals to take the pressure off ourselves. If we can put that together against Barnet we should progress,” he added.
