Blackpool In Vale Park Action

Fixture| Port Vale vs Blackpool
Date| 24 November 2015
Venue| Vale Park

Preview
Returning to Vale Park a month after their cup success a month ago, Blackpool will be looking for similar joy on Tuesday evening, when league points take centre stage.

The Seasiders travel to Port Vale amidst a sticky run of form, which has seen them fall to defeats in their last four league matches, but Neil McDonald is remaining positive.

The manager saw enough in Saturday’s performance at Southend United to stay upbeat and the Vale Park trip offers his side an opportunity to get back on track.

A victory could drag Pool back out of the relegation zone and they’ll take heart from the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory at the same ground recently.

The Opposition
Tuesday’s fixture is Port Vale’s third in six days, but their previous two wielded victories over Maidenhead United and Chesterfield.

Saturday’s success, at a snow-covered Vale Park, saw Sam Kelly, AJ Leitch-Smith and Louis Dodds hit the target to see off The Spireites

That victory pushed Rob Page’s side up to 12th in League One, four points off the play-offs.

Team News
Andy Little will be denied the opportunity to continue his positive start to life at Blackpool, after his debut was cut-short with a hamstring injury at the weekend.

Emmerson Boyce is again a doubt, but Pool will definitely be without Colin Doyle, Lloyd Jones and Henry Cameron.

As for Port Vale, they look set to do without goalkeeper Jak Alnwick, while Michael O’Connor missed Saturday’s victory over Chesterfield with a groin strain.

Pre-Match Talk
McDonald: “We’ll lick our wounds. We’ll aim for the same sort of solid defensive performance, but be a bit more clinical when we’re in the final third – we must start putting the ball in the back pf the net.”

Page: “We can’t take anything for granted now, we’ve got realise what’s got us there and that’s our hand work, endeavour, attitude along with the ability we’ve got in that changing room.”
