Cullen: Formation Switch Paying Off

16 October 2015

Striker Pleased To Have Support

Mark Cullen says a recent switch back to a 4-4-2 formation has brought out the best in him and the team.

The striker has scored in Blackpool's last two league games and helped the side secure six points in the process.

The 23-year-old is now on four goals for the season, with his previous efforts coming alongside Jack Redshaw in attack.

"It seems to be paying off a bit, it's nice to have a bit of support up there," he told the official website. "Playing with Jack is good and I enjoy that, though it's up to the gaffer as to what formation he picks. I've got a couple of goals in the last couple of games I've played so hopefully I'll carry on."

Fresh from a break in action, Blackpool face Coventry City this weekend looking to build on their recent momentum of three straight wins in all competitions.

"We'd hit a bit of good form so it would have been nice to carry it on last week, but the rest has done the lads the world of good. We're looking forward to Saturday, we've been training well and it's a good stadium to play a game.

"At the start of the season we waited a long time for a win but we got one and now we've managed to build on it. There's always room for improvement and we'll look to keep doing the best we can," he added.
