Midfielder Answers Our Questions

John Herron swapped Celtic for Blackpool in the summer determined to make his mark in English football.

The 21-year-old, who has made seven appearances so far this season, had been at Celtic Park since the age of eight and achieved various caps at Scotland youth level in that time.

He recently sat down with the club to reveal more about his experiences to date, as well as some of his favourites things.

If you were the dressing room DJ, what three songs would be on your pre-match playlist?

It would have to be Hip Hop and R ‘n’ B. I like Drake, Kanye West and Jay Z.

What is your favourite piece of football memorabilia that you own?

I’d say my league winners’ medal for Celtic two years ago. I only played two or three times but was on the bench for most of the season, including the trophy presentation day. It just pips my Adebayor shirt because I have a soft spot for Arsenal as well.

Who is the biggest name in your phonebook?

I’d say Fraser Forster

What can you remember about your first job?
 
I left school and went straight to full-time at Celtic.

To date, what is your most embarrassing moment in football?

I went on loan to Cowdenbeath and was part of a team that got beat 10-1. I left before the game finished.

What is the best sporting event that you’ve watched live?

When Celtic beat Barcelona 2-1 at home.

What were your first pair of football boots?

The R9 Brazilian Ronaldo boots.

What TV series are you addicted to currently?

The last one was Breaking Bad

Including yourself, what four players in world football would be in your 5-a-side team?

Zidane, Xavi, Ronaldinho and Messi. I’ll have to go in goals.
