Manager On Bury Trip
Neil McDonald says Blackpool are building in confidence away from home, as he prepares to take his side to Bury's Gigg Lane this weekend.
The Seasiders held Coventry City on their last venture away from Bloomfield Road and McDonald is hopeful of another positive return from their trip to Greater Manchester.
“The good point we got at Coventry gives us confidence against the top teams,” said McDonald.
“Bury have been up there this season, they’ve faltered over the last couple of games but will be ready to go again at home, so we need to concentrate 100 percent on getting a good result.
“Like Burton, it’s almost a positive fear (after being promoted) where they’re not sure if they can cope in the league, but they’ve taken it by storm and it will be another great test for us.”
Unbeaten in the last six matches, Blackpool can finally kick-on after escaping the bottom four and the manager has been enjoying watching his side in recent weeks.
“We’re defending with our brains, not just the physical side. We’re thinking about where we have to be, and what positions we need to be in when we’re defending.
“Our attacking play has been really exciting, we move the ball on really well. We’ve got into good positions and stuck the ball in the back of the net.
“Putting them both together in this little run has been very pleasing indeed,” he added.
