Crewe Come From Behind To Win 4-1Blackpool's hopes in the the FA Youth Cup came to an end in extra-time for the second season running.
Ciaran Donnelly's side lost out 4-1 to Crewe Alexandra, a Cat 2 Academy, despite looking set to cause an upset early on at Bloomfield Road.
Bright Osayi-Samuel, fresh from starting for the first-team on Saturday, gave Blackpool the lead in the 30th minute after latching on to a ball from Caleb Richards.
The lead was deserved on the balance of play, with Kit Gregory and Sam Roscoe also going close.
But Crewe hit back in the second-half and levelled matters in the 73rd minute, as Oli Finney found the net from a well-worked corner.
Buoyed by the equaliser, the visitors scored again three minutes into extra-time after Charlie Kirk tackle keeper Myles Boney to slot in.
As Blackpool continued to press for a way back into the tie, Crewe countered up field and Owen Dale found Charlie Kirk for his second of the night, before Kirk added another for his third and his side's fourth with a minute remaining.
