New Signing Discusses Move
Hayden White admitted feeling wanted by Neil McDonald helped lure him to Bloomfield Road, after Blackpool landed their man on loan from Bolton Wanderers.
The full-back has been on McDonald’s radar for a while and displayed his potential with a solid showing on debut against Millwall.
Hoping to retain his place for Saturday’s clash with Crewe, White is looking forward to showing supporters why McDonald brought him to the club.
“I’m very happy to be here and it’s nice to know a manager wants you,” he said. “I know I can offer a lot more than I did do on Tuesday, so hopefully I can show more of what’s to come.
“The squad is very young, obviously the manager has a lot of time for the players here and hopefully the results will come.
“I’ve played in League One before and the teams are very similar. It’s more about hard work, if your team is working harder than the other you seem to grind out results.”
White, who previously had a loan spell with Notts County at this level, played the full 90 minutes against The Lions, as Pool extended their unbeaten run to five matches.
“At half-time the players knew it wasn’t the best, everyone was trying to gear each other up to say the second-half had to be better and sometimes you do get the luck with the penalty.
“The manager had a few words and pointed us in the right direction because the first-half wasn’t at the standard he expects. As long as you keep working hard you’ve always got a chance.
“Crewe are in a similar situation to us, so obviously we’re looking to take all three points on Saturday,” he added.
