Donnelly's Side Beat Shrewsbury 3-1Macauley Wilson scored a hat-trick as the youth team won 3-1 away to Shrewsbury Town.
Shrewsbury scored the first goal of the game after winning the ball in the Blackpool half, however the captain led the comeback with two penalties and a sensational free-kick in the top corner.
For the first penalty the right-back sent the keeper the wrong way as he fired in the left hand side of the goal, while his second goal was a placed free-kick in the top corner from 25 yards out which left the goalkeeper with no chance.
Wilson calmly put his second penalty down the middle to complete his hat-trick and secure all three points for The Seasiders.
Despite Wilson claiming all the goals, it was a superb overall team performance by Ciaran Donnelly’s side.
“We’re just so pleased with them that they’ve reacted in the right way to the defeat to Carlisle," Donnelly said. "They’ve played the right football and it also gave us some great preparation for playing Crewe on Wednesday.
“Some of them who have been on the fringes - who got games today because we’ve rested a couple for the Youth Cup - have excelled and pushed on.”
