Seasiders Stretch Unbeaten Run To Four GamesCiaran Donnelly's Blackpool youth side continued their impressive start to the season with a 3-0 victory against Walsall on Saturday.
James Doyle put the team a goal up after 22 minutes and Macauley Wilson added a second from the penalty spot to give The Seasiders a commanding lead at half-time.
It was then left to striker Elliot Pond to secure all three points with Blackpool's third goal of the game after 70 minutes.
The result saw the youth team stretch their unbeaten run in the North West Youth Alliance to four games, which has included wins against Lancashire rivals Preston North End and Burnley.
"It was a fantastic result against one of the best sides at our level," Donnelly said. "The performance was as good as the previous one against Burnley, if not better. The scoreline didn't flatter us at all.
"The lads worked tirelessly and produced some quality football at times, which was pleasing. Youth level is about development but at the same time we want our players at under-18 level to learn how to win football matches. At the moment they are really starting to grasp that."
