Cameron In Contention To Represent New Zealand

Winger On International Radar

Neil McDonald has confirmed that Henry Cameron is in contention to represent New Zealand internationally.

The 18-year-old winger, who qualifies to play for the country through his mother, is currently on the radar of coach Anthony Hudson and is likely to be involved in the near future.

Following discussions between both managers, it was agreed that Cameron would stay with the club for the match against Scunthorpe United this weekend but could feature for New Zealand when the next set of international fixtures take place.

"I have spoken to Anthony Hudson, the New Zealand manager, and they wanted him to go across this week to play the game, so that would have been his first call-up, but with not much notice I would have preferred him to stay here, and we've agreed for him to stay here so he can be involved against Scunthorpe," McDonald revealed.

"When the next international break comes along he will certainly be called up by New Zealand to try and become a full international, which is brilliant for him first of all and brilliant for us as a club to produce international footballers."
