McDonald On Return To Bloomfield Road

18 September 2015

Manager Keen On First Home Win

After decent performances on the road in recent weeks, Neil McDonald is pleased Blackpool now have an opportunity to kick-start their season on home soil.

Without a victory at Bloomfield Road this campaign, The Seasiders will be looking to take the positives from their form on the road into Saturday’s clash with Barnsley.

Once that first home win arrives and the shackles are off McDonald believes supporters will see a different Pool side at home.

“If we could get over the line and get three points at home that will take the pressure off everybody and we can express ourselves a little bit more,” he said.

“We’ve lost the first three home games and I don’t want to lose any more, we need three points to move us up the table.

“I’ve been happy with certain aspects of our play, but other aspects we’ve been working hard on the training ground to improve on.”

Barnsley arrive from across the Pennines with a spring in their step after earning three points a week ago, but McDonald feels his side are well prepared to taste victory this time around.

“I’ve seen them on a couple of occasions this season and they do try to play football. They’re a free-kick specialist team, so we’ve got to be on our guard and not give any silly free-kicks away.

“We’ve got to stop them from playing and if we do both of them we’ve got a good chance of winning the game,” he added.
