Midfielder After Winning Strike
Saturday’s match-winner Brad Potts is expecting an added buzz around the Blackpool camp on Monday morning, after a well-earned victory at Scunthorpe United.
The midfielder bundled home Henry Cameron’s corner to earn The Seasiders their first win of the campaign at Glanford Park.
The goal was Potts’ first in a tangerine shirt and he’s now itching to get back to work with that winning feeling.
“It’s not nice going in on Monday morning after you’ve been beaten, but this gets the monkey off our backs,” said Potts. “The lads will be buzzing this week and it will make the place a lot happier.
“I’m over the moon. We’ve showed in patches in a few of the games what we can do, it was just about getting results and getting goals.
“Everyone is delighted in the dressing room that we finally got that first win.”
Put under severe pressure by their hosts in the latter stages of the contest, Blackpool held out thanks to some committed defending and fine work from their goalkeeper.
“The Gaffer changed formation to make it harder for teams to break us down with five in midfield. The defence and midfield were brilliant, and Doyley was fantastic, he made some great saves.
“We’ve got a hard game next week against Gillingham, but as long as we come away with something we’ll be happy,” he added.
