Left-Back Praised By Academy ManagerCiaran Donnelly says Luke Higham is the perfect model for the Blackpool FC academy following his progression into the first-team.
The Academy Manager, who has monitored the left-back's progress since joining as an eight-year-old, is delighted to see the former Lytham Junior taking his chance in the side.
"I watched the game on Saturday and I thought he was outstanding. He seems to be growing to his role in the first-team - he's been composed, settled and is showing the quality we've always known," Donnelly said.
"I've been at the club a long time now so I remember when Luke was a schoolboy here. He always had potential and he's the perfect model for all the other boys in the academy to look at because he's come right through the academy from start to finish."
Higham, who has started Blackpool's last six league fixtures, agreed a new contract with the club earlier this week and is being tipped to develop further in years to come.
"He's drastically improved since coming in full-time, he's listened to the coaches, taken the information on board and been highly motivated. I'm hoping and confident that he'll have a long career at Blackpool Football Club," Donnelly continued.
"He's been rewarded for doing well and I know he'll continue to work hard and build on the start he's had as a professional footballer."
