Left-Back Puts Pen To PaperLuke Higham has agreed a new deal that will keep him at Blackpool until at least the summer of 2017, with the club holding an option to extend it by a further year.
The 19-year-old, who made his league debut against Coventry City last month, has featured nine times for the team this season and started in Blackpool's last six matches.
The left-back has been on the books at Bloomfield Road since he was eight-years-old and is determined to be a success in tangerine.
"I'm really pleased to sign a new deal at Blackpool, I grew up as a fan of the club and making my league debut was a really proud moment for me," Higham admitted.
"I've been waiting for an opportunity in the team and I think I've settled in quickly. I know that I need to keep working hard in training to impress the manager and hopefully keep my place, though."
Manager Neil McDonald has been full of praise for the way Higham has adapted to his role in the side and says his new, improved deal is just reward.
"He has been magnificent since getting into the team and this new contract is fully deserved. He's a local lad who has come through the youth system at the club and he's growing with every game he plays."
