McDonald: In Our Own Hands

21 April 2016

Manager On Remaining Games

Neil McDonald says everything remains in Blackpool hands as The Seasiders prepare to face Fleetwood Town this weekend.

Midweek results elsewhere left things as you were for certain teams down at the bottom and placed further importance on the head-to-head with the club's Fylde coast neighbours.

"It's all in our own hands, we've got to take each game as it comes and not look too far ahead. We need to beat Fleetwood on Saturday," the manager insisted.

The players go into the fixture on the back of two disappointing results, with a reaction now needed from the most recent one against Rochdale.

"They took a beating on Saturday and the two goals we conceded either side of half-time knocked the stuffing out of us. I was disappointed with the reaction but we've picked them up this week like we normally do," he said.

"Training has been bright but at the end of the day it's about the reaction on the pitch against Fleetwood. We'll wait and see what reaction we get.

"We need a good result against Fleetwood to put us above them in the league."
