Manager Previews Southend FixtureNeil McDonald is looking for Blackpool to maintain their bit of momentum when Southend United visit tomorrow.
The Seasiders go into the game on the back of a three-game unbeaten run, with victories against Crewe Alexandra and Doncaster Rovers keeping the club above the line in the battle to retain League One status.
"We've got a little bit of momentum and we have to use that as much as we possibly can to strive forward," McDonald said. "The last three games have been excellent, goal return as well as points return, and we must continue that against a very difficult team in Southend."
Blackpool kept their first clean sheet since mid-February on Monday and it came with Clark Robertson and Tom Aldred in the centre of defence for the third game running.
"Both of them are playing well and they're likely to get a goal as well from set-plays, but their main job is to keep the ball out of the back of the net with the rest of the team," the manager commented.
"It's always good to have a good, solid back four and everyone is performing really well. I'm pleased that we've kept another clean sheet, which is 13 now this season."
Phil Brown's Southend side will arrive at Bloomfield Road following a midweek victory at home to Sheffield United, which the manager attended alongside Richie Kyle.
"It was a long journey down, we had a look at them to see what they're all about and what the atmosphere was like. They played well, they're a good team and they're trying for promotion, so we have to be on our mettle and try and pick up more points," he added.
