Midfielder Wants Six Points From Six
Midfielder David Norris remains confident two wins would be enough to ensure Blackpool are playing League One football again next season.
With five teams still in the mix to avoid the drop, Blackpool know victory over Wigan Athletic will lift them out of the relegation zone for a minimum of 48 hours.
Wigan are all but promoted already, but Pool’s experienced midfielder Norris insists the hosts must concentrate on themselves.
“I think two wins would give us every chance of staying up,” he explained. “Obviously the pressure is on us and we’ve got to embrace that pressure.
“It’s a big game and probably nobody gives us a chance except us in the changing room, but it’s about us.
“You get to each weekend and there’s always a surprise, where someone gets a result you didn’t expect, and if we beat Wigan it would be a big result.”
Back in December Norris played his part in a disciplined Blackpool performance, which wielded three points against Wigan at the DW Stadium.
A repeat performance should give Blackpool every opportunity of taking it to the final day and Norris insists they must take heart from the reverse fixture.
“We did beat them. We had a game plan and it worked, and that’ll have to happen again. They’re on a good run but we need to make sure we get what we need.
“They’ve lost one and drawn one in the last few games when the pressure was on, so hopefully that plays into our hands.
“We’ll concentrate on Saturday, get three points there and see what happens,” he added.
