Manager On Winger's Progression
Gary Bowyer believes Bright Osayi-Samuel is in the perfect place to develop his game - the Blackpool first-team.
The manager has put total faith in the winger, who has started all three of Blackpool’s league games, and the youngster is producing the goods.
After a full season as a professional last time out, Osayi-Samuel is starting to perform more consistency and has pleased his manager.
“He gives us something going forward,” said Bowyer. “He knows himself he’s got to have more end product, whether that be crosses for the strikers or actual goals himself, but he’s learning in a tough environment of the first team.
“There’s a hell of a lot of work still to be done with him in all of his game, but you forget he’s only 18 years of age.
“We’ve been fortunate in terms of him wanting to learn and get better, and we’ll keep working with him.”
While Osayi-Samuel has caught the eye on the left, converted winger Brad Potts has impressed on the right and is another who has earned the plaudits of Bowyer.
“Going forward and playing forward is a big strength of his. He has created several chances and should have more than the two goals he’s got.
“He had a great chance against Exeter and another excellent opportunity at Barnet. We’re delighted with how he’s playing going forward,” he added.
