Former Forward Passes AwayBlackpool Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of former forward Dave Durie at the age of 85.
Blackpool-born, he made his professional debut for The Seasiders in March 1953 and went on to make more than 300 appearances for the club.
He scored 88 goals in his time at Bloomfield Road, working under managers Joe Smith and Ron Suart, before signing for Chester City in 1964.
A year earlier, Durie was voted as the best example of a player who had never been sent off or booked in more than 300 league and cup games by club managers, players and the Professional Footballers' Association.
The club wishes to pass on its sincere condolences to Dave's family at this time.
