Midfielder Completes Move To BlackpoolMidfielder Jack Payne has joined Blackpool on an initial one-year deal, with the option of a further year.
The 24-year-old, who spent last season on loan to Leyton Orient, moves to the club after three-and-a-half years at Peterborough United.
Payne signed for The Posh for an undisclosed fee in 2013 having previously been on the books of Gillingham, where he was named the club's Young Player of the Year and made more than 100 league appearances.
He departs the ABAX Stadium with a Football League Trophy medal and 90 games under his belt, and is now determined to make his mark at Bloomfield Road.
"I want to come here and be successful - that's the aim of the club this year," Payne told the official website. "I want to come here and be out of this league with this club.
"I need to get myself playing again, get myself back out there and prove, not to everyone else but more to myself, that I can get back to the form that I was showing a couple of years ago."
Manager Gary Bowyer, clearly thrilled with Payne's arrival, has been full of praise for his new recruit's attitude.
"I'm delighted that we've been able to get it done, and a lot of the credit has to go to Jack himself for wanting to come and play for us," he said. "Having spoken to him on the phone, it was clear that he wanted to come and join us. He's gone the extra mile to do that, and that's been impressive already from him.
"He's got some ability on the ball for us in the middle of the park and he sees a pass. I remember watching him at Peterborough when he linked up really impressively with Dwight Gayle a couple of times, especially when they played Blackburn one year."
"I know what he's going to bring to us and we're looking forward to it."
