Loan Deal Agreed For Cain

5 August 2016

Leicester City Midfielder Joins

Leicester City midfielder Michael Cain has completed a move to Blackpool on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old, part of the Premier League champions' Development Squad, made his first-team debut for The Foxes in August 2014 and spent the majority of the 2014/15 campaign on loan to League One side Walsall.

During his time with The Saddlers he reached the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Wembley, made a total of 38 appearances and found the net on three occasions.

Signed by Leicester for an initial five-figure fee from Luton Town in 2011, Cain picked up the club's Academy Player of the Year award in 2012/13 and is renowned for being a dynamic, box-to-box midfielder.

He trained with his new team-mates for the first time yesterday and offers a different option in the middle of the park.

"He plays forward and he wants to create something," manager Gary Bowyer said. "I just felt that we needed that in the squad and he's settled in very, very quickly."
