Winger Content With Blackpool's Start
Andy Taylor believes Blackpool’s performances so far this season have showcased what Gary Bowyer’s side are about, even if the points have not necessarily followed.
The Seasiders showed plenty of positive facets to their game in recent away showings at Morecambe and Barnet and were unfortunate to pick up just the solitary point.
This weekend Pool are back on home soil, where their record is flawless so far, and Taylor hopes the points start following strong performances.
“The first three performances have been very encouraging,” explained Taylor. “It’s not the points haul that we would have hoped for, and arguably deserved, but performance-wise to say it’s the first games in a new group, it’s been very pleasing.
“Obviously we won our first home game and we’d love to continue that. It is a cliché but we take each game as it comes because every game is worth three points, we missed out on two on Tuesday so we’ll be looking for all three on Saturday.”
Taylor was one of nine new faces to come through the Bloomfield Road door during the summer and feels this squad could really compete this season, particularly once injuries clear.
“You look around the changing room in the morning and it’s a decent squad, there’s some real strength in depth.
“Obviously the squad is thin with the injuries we’ve got, but they’ll clear up and hopefully sooner rather than later we’ll be back to full strength and give the Gaffer some real selection headaches.
“We’ve got good pros who do the right thing day in, day out so it’s encouraging,” he added.
