Going The Distance For Prostate Cancer UK

Club To Be Represented On Football To Amsterdam Cycle

Blackpool will once again be represented on the Football to Amsterdam charity cycle in aid of Prostate Cancer UK in June.

David Hayhurst, Senior Development Officer with the Blackpool FC Community Trust, is to undertake the 145-mile trek alongside ex-professionals Les Ferdinand, Terry Butcher and Simon Grayson.

Starting out in either London or Yorkshire on 9 June, the cycle culminates two days later at Ajax's Amsterdam Arena.

“The bike ride is an opportunity to not only represent Blackpool Football Club and Blackpool Football Club Community Trust in raising money for this amazing cause, but it is also an opportunity to complete the ride in memory of those who have passed away from Prostate Cancer," David said.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Over 47,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that's 130 men every day. Every hour one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 10,800 men every year.
