Back On Home Soil
Fixture | Blackpool vs Luton Town
Date | 17 December 2016
Venue | Bloomfield Road
Blackpool will look to sign off for Christmas with victory over Luton Town to ensure they begin the festive period in the play-off positions.
The Seasiders have lost just once in their last 11 matches and have scored 12 goals in their last three League Two matches on home soil.
Their latest success came at Stevenage last weekend and Gary Bowyer will be looking for more of the same as they prepare to face a promotion rival.
The Hatters sit two points ahead of Pool after a similar vein of form, but Blackpool’s record against fellow promotion contenders has been impressive this season.
Goals from substitutes Bright Osayi-Samuel and Mark Cullen secured victory at Stevenage last weekend. Recent home wins against Doncaster Rovers, Notts County and Newport County have continued Pool’s strong home form.
Luton shared the spoils with Doncaster last weekend, after Danny Hylton equalised at Kenilworth Road. Nathan Jones’ men are without a win in their last three, but they came after victories over Accrington Stanley and Morecambe.
Colin Daniel may come back into contention after missing the last three games with a hamstring problem. Michael Cain is a doubt having been off with illness.
Luton will give a late fitness test to Alan Sheehan after he was withdrawn with a groin injury last weekend. Danny Green and Nathan Doyle remain sidelined.
