Back To League Action
Fixture | Stevenage vs Blackpool
Date | 10 December 2016
Venue | Broadhall Way
Blackpool will aim for three points in their first ever club meeting with Stevenage to boost their chances of returning to the play-off places.
The Seasiders have progressed in two cup competitions since last playing in League Two and now regain their focus ahead of the busy Christmas period.
Victory at Stevenage would be the perfect start, but will be no mean feat given the two clubs are locked on 27 points each in the top half of the table.
Gary Bowyer’s men have lost just once in their last ten matches and are still fighting on three fronts, meaning they travel to Hertfordshire in positive spirits.
Victories over Brackley Town and Doncaster Rovers saw Blackpool progress in the FA Cup and Checkatrade Trophy. Previously they’d beaten Newport County in League Two to keep them in the mix for the play-offs.
Victory over Newport on Tuesday moved Stevenage level with The Seasiders. However, last weekend they were beaten at home by Doncaster Rovers, making it five home games in the league without a win.
Bowyer is expected to be without Colin Daniel again, with the midfielder struggling with a hamstring injury. Jack Redshaw came through his first appearance of the season in midweek so is competing for a place in the squad.
Stevenage picked up a few fresh knocks on Tuesday night. Leading scorer Matt Godden has been out of action, while Kgosi Ntlhe is expected to miss out.
