Skipper Calls For Right Response
Skipper Danny Pugh insists Blackpool must react to defeat in the correct manner and bounce back with a set of strong performances over the Christmas period.
The Seasiders lost just their second game in 12 matches against Luton Town at the weekend, meaning they’ll spend Christmas in 8th spot.
However, the busy festive period gives Pool an opportunity to respond and Pugh has called on Blackpool to do exactly that.
“It’s about how we react from it,” he said. “In the past when we’ve had knocks or little blips, the next game we’ve reacted well and it’s vital we do that.
“It’s a busy time with lots of games and it’s a chance for us to get back up and running.”
The hosts had their chances in the first-half but Luton scored either side of the break to inflict a first home defeat since August on Pool.
“We worked their goalkeeper two or three times and he made some good saves but we didn’t do it enough.
“I don’t think we played at the standards we have been, or as well as we can. We’ve got to learn from it, move on and kick on again next week.
“We’ve done brilliantly here so far this season so it’s disappointing to lose the run but we need to start another one,” he added.
