Left-Back Has Confidence In Squad
Andy Taylor says the Blackpool players are determined to reach their full potential and achieve something as a squad.
The Seasiders' vice-captain has been impressed with what he's seen on the training ground day in, day out and is confident that his team-mates will kick on in the second half of the season.
Though disappointed to lose out against Luton Town last time out, the left-back is relishing a festive period of fixtures that offer a great opportunity to bounce back.
"It's a very busy period of the year football-wise and for us it's perfect because we were disappointed with how the game went last week," Taylor said.
"There's plenty of games coming up fast and lots of opportunities to bounce back and get back on track, so that's what we'll be looking to do straight away.
"We know what we've got in the changing room and we know what potential we've got, and we want to achieve that."
A veteran of the Christmas schedule, Taylor is used to the expectations on footballers at this time of year and will be amongst the players travelling to Hartlepool late on Christmas Day.
"I've been doing it for years now, as have most of the boys, it's just something that you accept," he said. "Hartlepool is a long way away so we can't be doing that on the day, so we go up the night before. If it wasn't Christmas Day you wouldn't think anything of it, but obviously it is.
"But the main thing is to make it worthwhile and come back down the motorway with the three points."
The Boxing Day game at Hartlepool will be the first of three in eight days, with the latter two coming in quick succession. Once again the whole squad will need to come to the fore.
"There's going to be players coming in and out, purely because of the games being that close together. This is where the squad really comes into it. Fortunately we've got a strong squad and we've show that already this season," he added.
