Defender Calls On Pool To Bounce Back
Will Aimson insists Blackpool can’t dwell on their painful late defeat at Swindon Town on Saturday.
The Robins bagged the winner two minutes from time, meaning Pool’s two goals counted for nothing.
Although devastated at the time, the defender says Blackpool must move on quickly from the defeat.
“Scoring two goals away you normally grab a point or even three, so to come away with nothing is very frustrating,” he said.
“We’ve got to look at ourselves, watch it back and see what we could have done to prevent the goals.
“To concede three goals, as a defender myself I’m devastated. We can’t really dwell on it because we’ve got to go again next week.”
Colin Doyle was at fault for Swindon's first goal, but Aimson was pleased to see the goalkeeper bounce back and make a number of crucial saves in the second-half.
“He obviously apologised but it’s gone. Every keeper and every player is going to make mistakes during their career.
“We can’t dwell on it, we’ve got to pick him up, it was early on and there was still 70-odd minutes to play and I thought he did well.
“He’s a great keeper, everyone knows that’s not what he’s about and that it’s just a blip,” he added.
