Doyle Boost For Seasiders

Goalkeeper Set To Train

Colin Doyle is set to hand Blackpool a major fitness boost after making a swift return to training today.

The goalkeeper, who has been in great form this season, rolled his ankle prior to the Shrewsbury Town game last weekend and was also forced to miss the midweek match against Oldham.

However, the problem doesn't appear as bad as first feared and there isn't any damage to the ligaments he injured back in November.

"It's feeling a lot better than it has done over the last few days," manager Neil McDonald confirmed. "He feels comfortable with it, so we'll have a training session today and see where he's at."

Should Doyle come through the next two training sessions unscathed, he will offer something of a selection dilemma between the sticks for this weekend's game at Swindon.

Dean Lyness returned to Blackpool on loan from Burton Albion last week and has proved more than capable of stepping up in the nine appearances he's made this season.
"Deano has come in and kept a clean sheet in his second game back, along with the clean sheets he kept when he was here beforehand. There's really good competition," McDonald added.
