McDonald: Games Can't Come Fast Enough

11 February 2016

Squad Desperate To Get Back In Action

Neil McDonald says confidence is high at Blackpool and the players are relishing the matches coming up.

A four-game unbeaten run, including victories against Scunthorpe United and Gillingham, has lifted spirits ahead of two important home games against Shrewsbury Town and Oldham.

"When you're in a good run and feeling good about yourself, you want the games to come round thick and fast," McDonald. "If they do come quick and fast, we've got the squad to deal with that at the moment.

"The whole place is buzzing and full of confidence but we can't get complacent, we must work extremely hard to put distance between us and the teams below us."

The Seasiders have had to wait an extra week to return to action after last weekend's away fixture at Oldham was called off late on.

"It was frustrating, we'd prepared everything, we went to the hotel, had a pre-match meeting and then went to the ground. We were two minutes away from the ground when it was called off," the manager revealed.

"We wanted to keep that run going but we've got a good chance to do that now against Shrewsbury on Saturday."
