Blackpool Exit Cup

Blackpool bowed out of the Lancashire Senior Cup at the hands of Manchester United at Bloomfield Road.

In a game of few chances, the visitors converted the best of them thanks to Scott McTominay’s tap-in.

The Seasiders gave valuable minutes to a number of squad players, with Uche Ikpeazu causing problems to United’s defence.

The striker had a header saved on 15 minutes and shot straight into the arms of Dean Henderson moments later.

After the break Martin Paterson’s overhead kick was kept out, before the visitors took the lead.

Kyle Letheren did well to deny Demetri Mitchell, but pushed the ball into the path of McTominay who applied a simple finish.

Paterson headed wide with time running out as Pool suffered defeat at Bloomfield Road.

Team: Letheren, Wilson, Oliver, Dunne, Higham, Rivers, Trialist, Herron, Osayi-Samuel, Paterson, Ikpeazu.

Subs: Boney, Roscoe, Doyle, Cato, Gregory.
