Legend Announces Retirement
Blackpool legend Keith Southern has today called time on a 19-year playing career.
A popular figure on and off the field at Bloomfield Road, Southern is best known in the game for the ten years he spent with The Seasiders.
After joining the club from Everton in 2002, the midfielder made more than 350 appearances in tangerine, scoring 33 times in the process.
Southern played an integral role in the club’s Wembley promotions in 2007 and 2010, and represented Blackpool in the Premier League.
The 34-year-old also spent time with Huddersfield Town, Fleetwood Town and Shrewsbury Town.
Blackpool FC would like to wish Keith the best of luck in his new challenge.
