Full-Back's Thoughts On Oldham Draw
Hayden White insists Blackpool are taking the positives from their goalless draw with Oldham Athletic, after Pool claimed their 12th clean sheet of the campaign.
The right-back returned to the starting line-up in place of Emmerson Boyce and dealt with the pace of Jonathan Forte at Bloomfield Road.
After an uncharacteristic defensive display at the weekend, the Bolton Wanderers loanee was pleased to see Pool return to basics against The Latics.
“It’s a clean sheet and we’re happy with a point,” he explained. “It was massively important to avoid defeat.
“We’ve been good against the teams up there, it’s the teams in and around us we've struggled against, so to get a point and clean sheet was pleasing.
“The home form has been really good with a lot of clean sheets, it’s something the Gaffer’s trying to drill into us and it’s something to keep going with.”
White missed last month's victory over Gillingham and was kept out of the side by Boyce at the weekend, so was pleased to be handed his return.
“I was ill a few weeks ago and ‘Boycey’ took his chance and did well, but we’ll see what the Gaffer does and hopefully I’ll keep my place. It was a good game and I enjoyed it.
“The Gaffer’s happy with a point and is saying we should be too, but obviously we need to keep going and turn one point into three point,” he added.
