Aimson On Facing Top Teams

21 January 2016

Defender Buoyant Ahead Of Walsall

Will Aimson believes Blackpool’s results against promotion-chasing teams last month should give them confidence going into this weekend’s trip to Walsall.

The Saddlers sit second in League One, but Aimson was part of the Pool side which upset Wigan Athletic and Peterborough United in the not so distant past.

On Saturday they’ll rock up at The Banks’ Stadium knowing the sort of performance required if they’re to pick up three points.

“We beat Wigan and Peterborough, so when you beat teams like that it gives you confidence to go to other places and win,” said Aimson.

“We’ve got to get a run together now. We’ve got three difficult games coming up so hopefully we can pick up some points.

“It’s obviously going to be an up and down season. We won three on the bounce and then lost three, but it was good to get back to winning ways on Saturday.”

The defender, who has also been utilised in holding midfield, made his move from Hull City permanent last week and is now ready to kick-on.

“I came here to get some games on loan and have gone one better with signing. I can settle down and look forward to the rest of the season, and the next couple.

“There wasn’t much thinking about it, I knew I wanted to sign here. Obviously I spoke to family and friends, as well as Hull, but I’m really glad I signed,” he added.
