McDonald: January Arrivals Have Improved Us

28 January 2016

Manager Pleased With Business

Neil McDonald has been delighted with the impact his January signings have made this month, with the added competition for places bringing out the best in his side.

The manager has moved for three new players in the current window and secured the short and long-term futures of Hayden White and Will Aimson, respectively.

"We've done really good business with Philliskirk and Yeates coming in, a goalscorer and that bit of experience, while Uche has come in to try and give us that diversity in how we play and how we attack," he said.

"We've got Will Aimson here on a full-time contract after he impressed on loan, and we've secured Hayden White as well until the end of the season.

"We've got depth in the squad now and plenty of competition for each place. It keeps everybody on their toes because they have to play well with somebody waiting in the wings to take their place."

Injuries are also starting to clear up from a selection point of view, with Will Aimson and Clark Robertson both fit to face Gillingham and Martin Paterson returning to training.

"Will's fine and Martin Paterson is starting to train now. There's only Lloyd Jones and Henry Cameron who aren't available," McDonald confirmed.
